Prior to being named General Counsel at Southern Strategy Group of Louisiana, Don was a partner in a New Orleans-based law firm where his practice areas included commercial litigation, natural resources and property law.
For nine legislative sessions, Don served as aide to Senator Bret Allain providing counsel on issues before the Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Welfare and Natural Resources Committees in the House and the Senate. Don also provided significant analysis and guidance for various legislative instruments.
Don graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Management and is an inaugural member of Leadership LSU. After a stint in our nation’s capital, Don returned to Louisiana to receive his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University in New Orleans where he volunteered his time representing indigent defendants.
When Don is not working on behalf of clients at Capitol, he provides strategic and legal advice to small businesses, property owners and other professional associations throughout the state. His varied background in law and legislative process coupled with established relationships within state government make Don a trusted partner to his clients.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Don enjoys all the natural resources Sportsmen’s Paradise has to offer. He splits his time between Acadiana and Baton Rouge.
